An amazing late spring or summer hike that begins near Salt Lake City, Utah up Big Cottonwood Canyon in the Wasatch Mountain Range.
This is one of the most beautiful hikes I have ever been on. The trees and ground still had young spring green and every turn was full of stunning beauty. It was 7 1/2 miles round trip. The pictures speak for themselves.

Getting there: The trailhead to Butler Fork is 8.5 miles up Big Cottonwood Canyon. 1/2 a mile into the hike the trail forks. Go east towards Dog Lake. From the southeast side of the Lake, catch the Mill D North trail that returns to Big Cottonwood Canyon road. John Veranth's book "Hiking the Wasatch" is an excellent guide for this hike. I just walked back down Big Cottonwood road to connect back to the Butler Fork trailhead.
